Set up with this device and you will know exactly where
you are, and it will not matter whether the capture is
any of the digital cameras using S-Log, RAW file or
film. Picscan FLS provides exact RGB reference
over the whole dynamic range and reveals true
photographic black level, even if the scene is
full of SFX smoke or diffusion filters have been
used. Color temp can be set and the face tone
gamma easily maintained to the calibration of
the director of photography's meter. Picscan
FLS inherently enables easy communication for
getting the ‘look’ perfect.
With Film capture the DI is a stable reproduction of
the negative with all options available in final color
timing. For DIT the Picscan LUT can be embedded into
dailies allowing the DP, director and producer to see
the real thing at the end of the day, along with the
art department, makeup and costume. Apply the LUTs
in final color timing gets you straight into
finessing the final look without the painful
time-consuming reconstruction. Great for everyone.
